Sexual Health

Locally, sexual health services (e.g. contraception, emergency contraception, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections) are provided by Virgin Care.

The UK’s Sexual Health Charity also provide information, support and advice on sexual health, sex and relationships to everyone in the UK, or you can find information on NHS Live Well. Young people might find The Mix helpful for support and advice about sex and relationships.

Local Support for sexual health

The Sexual Health Hub

The local Sexual Health service is called the Northern Lincolnshire Integrated Sexual Health Service and is supported by Virgin Care. It is based at Stirling Street Medical Centre in Grimsby. It offers free and confidential sexual health services, including information and advice on all types of contraception and STI testing and treatment. Appointments and walk-ins are offered, and the service can be used by adults and young people. Call on 0300 3301122. We advice you to please check on the Virgin care Virtual Hub for all up to date appointment and walk in times.

Outreach services

Virgin Care also offer outreach services where you can access Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) screening, express testing and contraception. Outreach sites can be found at:

C-Card scheme

The scheme allows young adults to the age of 18, to access free condoms at participating pharmacies.

Pharmacies can also provide you with free and confidential advice, free condoms, pregnancy testing an Emergency Hormonal Contraception (morning after pill).
